School districts using Vital Math

International Students - Pre-Arrival

Vital Math has been accessed by students in over 100 countries. It is available in a multitude of browsers and can be provided to students asynchronously.

  • Covers grade 2 through 12
  • Integrated with TrueNorth

Landed Immigrants - Newcomers

With the Canadian government’s target of attracting 500,000 landed immigrants annually, many school districts face a backlog of student assessments and placements.

Vital Math allows school districts to scale their testing and ensure students are placed in classes accurately and in a timely manner.

Placement Recommendation

Vital Math can automatically provide a Course Recommendation, based on a student’s answers and the courses available in a specific province.

Currently available for Ontario, Vital English is currently working with several provinces to customize this.

Record of Answers

While a student may be eligible to enter a certain grade, it is very helpful for a teacher to know of any learning gaps.

Vital Math provides a detailed overview of how students answered every question.

A Holistic Approach

While Vital Math can assess and recommend a suitable course for a student, we highly recommend school districts maintain a holistic approach to student placements.

I.e. speak to the student in person to ensure the course recommendation and the student’s background and future goals are aligned.

Vital Math is a very effective tool but is most efficient in conjunction with a teacher or student advisor.

Elementary

Most school districts utilize Vital Math for Secondary students. However, there is also an Elementary version available, testing students from grade 2 through to grade 12.

It can be used specifically for Elementary students, or for Elementary students transitioning to Secondary school – providing actionable information for high schools and teachers.
